Aromatherapeutics are a viable option for Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome symptom management

Dr. Becker spent over 14 years in academic research, conducting research at three high ranking universities in North Carolina. She published on the topic of cancer, genetics, and evolution. Dr. Becker is a Registered Aromatherapist™ with an advanced diploma in aromatic medicine. Dr. Becker writes scientific reviews of biological and chemical interactions with essential oils, CO2 extracts, and their chemical constituents, which have been published in AromaCulture Magazine, and by the Tisserand Institute. Dr. Becker is a peer reviewer, and conducts her own aromatic research. Her research into the application of aromatherapeutics for Ehlers-Danlos syndrome symptom management is funded by an AIA grant. Dr. Becker serves on AIA’s research committee, consults for several industry leaders, and for clinical aromatherapists. She possesses a unique skill set, which perfectly represents the movement towards evidence based aromatherapy.

 Aromatherapy Intangibles Study

Blinded, placebo-controlled clinical trial to evaluate the “intangible” benefits of aromatherapy on human health.

The Alliance of International Aromatherapists is pleased to be a sponsor for the “Intangibles” study being done by the Franklin Health Research Foundation (FHRF) on those therapeutic effects of essential oils that you haven’t been able to quite put your finger on—until now.

Please join us in furthering the advance of essential oil science by donating today. We have committed to $25,000. We can’t raise it without you. Together, we can help the FHRF to verify some of the therapeutic effects of essential oils that have hitherto been unquantifiable.

With the psychological measurement tools that have been developed, mood states related to essential oil effects such as grounding, invigorating, calming, or uplifting, can be measured and analyzed to confirm their validity.

Donate today to help bring them to light!

Hello Members and Friends of AIA,

AIA has been contacted about the growing shortage of essential oils due to the great demand of the MLM companies. Below is a survey from the International Committee on Sustainability of Aromatic Plants and Essential Oils Used in Aromatherapy and Natural Perfumery (SEOS) asking for your opinions. Filling this out will help this organization better protect our valuable resources of essential oils.  We encourage you to take the time and fill out the survey as we partner with them for responsible use of essential oils around the globe. Thanks for being involved in this effort to preserve our oils.

Inga Wieser on behalf of your AIA board of directors

AIA President

On behalf of the International Committee on Sustainability of Aromatic Plants and Essential Oils Used in Aromatherapy and Natural Perfumery (SEOS), we are asking that you take their short 10 question survey estimated to take no more than three minutes to complete, and is anonymous.

SEOS, founded in 2019 by Terry Johnson (Director, World Heritage Program - International Perfume Foundation), and Dr. Kelly Ablard (Executive Director – Airmid Institute) was formed out of concern that as multi-level marketing companies continue to expand and grow, a greater demand will be placed on already threatened and near-threatened essential and carrier oil-bearing plants. And although natural perfume represents a small percentage of the $50 billion total of perfume sales, consumers are making significant moves to natural and organic perfumes made with essential oils (especially in the US and Canada).

As a result of the growing heavy demand for these plants and their extracts, many aromatherapists and natural perfumers will find it increasingly difficult to purchase high-quality essential oils and so may have to settle for oils of lesser value which may have been unethically sourced.

SEOS, which consists of several professional experts in both fields, understand that there is an urgent need to establish guidelines to address these current and impending issues for the benefit of all parties concerned — and for the preservation and protection of aromatic medicinal plants.

To this end, please help them better understand where they need to focus their efforts by answering this short survey, which again should only take three minutes of your time, and is completely anonymous.

Any questions regarding the survey itself can be sent directly to Dr. Ablard at [email protected].

Survey closes: midnight PDT, April 20th, 2020
